About Me

No matter how careful we are, accidents and illness are part of life. My aim is to empower you to feel confident in your ability to know how to manage these occasions quickly and confidently, as they arise.

I can use over 10 years of knowledge and experience as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner to provide you with a quality First Aid Course. I qualified with a BA (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University in 2000 and worked at the John Radcliffe Hospital for a couple of years before moving to London. In London I have worked at; Kings College Hospital A&E, Chelsea and Westminster A&E and ITU and Teddington Walk-in-centre. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice from London Southbank University. Since moving to Kent in 2009, I have worked at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital A&E and Edenbridge & Sevenoaks Minor Injury Units as a Senior Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Despite loving the job I have found it hard to balance family life with working unpredictable 12 hour shifts and so in 2017 I decided to take the plunge and set up Rosie’s First Aid. Having seen many parents over the years who have felt unsure about how to manage illness and injuries affecting their children; I have become passionate about trying to increase confidence in Parents and Carers. So far, the feedback from those attending courses has been exceedingly positive.

I am a qualified Advanced First Aid Instructor with NUCO Training LTD and work to the UK Resuscitation Council and the European Resuscitation Council guidelines.  The content of each course can be tailored to the needs of each group whilst ensuring the basics are always covered. For example, if you have a child who has allergies and needs an adrenaline auto injector, you may want to gather friends and family who may look after your child to train them in how to manage your child’s allergy.

Courses are highly interactive, recognising the fact that adults learn best when they can see the reasons for the skills they are learning. Lots of scenarios are used to ensure you can ‘click into action’ should the need ever arise!

I use high quality Laerdal Resuscitation manikins and each delegate gets their own ‘face shield’ to use to keep things hygienic! I also update my courses as new research regarding First Aid is published.

I am fully insured through NUCO and hold a current DBS check.

Every delegate will leave with a First Aid Book appropriate for the course done, a certificate of attendance and a list of local services.
